Mansiones Coliving: shared accommodation reinvented for everyone



The concept  

At Mansiones, we offer a unique way of living: intergenerational coliving. In our shared homes, people of all ages live together, creating a vibrant and caring community. We renovate and furnish beautiful houses full of character, equipped to accommodate around ten roommates in comfortable private spaces (bedroom with bathroom and toilet) and friendly and practical common spaces (kitchen, living room, dining room, garden, laundry room, cinema room, gym).

In addition to housing, we offer a full range of services included in the rent to simplify the daily lives of our roommates: energy, cleaning of common areas, subscriptions (internet, TV, streaming), home insurance, and even the provision of small groceries essential common areas (cleaning products, salt/pepper/oil/vinegar, etc.). We also organize quarterly events to energize community life.  

Thus, everyone can put aside the constraints of traditional shared accommodation and thus concentrate on what really matters: enjoying a large space and conviviality, while maintaining their privacy.


How did you come up with the idea?

Mansiones was born from personal experience. Basile Huvet and Lucas Kihlgren, the two founders, discovered coliving during a stay in Belgium. Back in France, they wanted to adapt and push this concept by adding an intergenerational dimension.
In fact, many co-living projects focus only on young people (under 30 years old), while other initiatives are starting to target seniors (over 60 years old).

With Mansiones, we wanted to go further by bringing together all generations under one roof. We also include the generation of 30-60 year olds, looking for sharing, who today find no response to their needs being too “young” for senior solutions and too “old” for coliving offers.


Where are you today?

Today, Mansiones has four active houses: two in Orsay (91), one in Guyancourt (78), and one in Chartres (28). We are also finalizing our fifth house which will open at the end of November again in Chartres.


What are the objectives in the coming years?
 
We aim to open two houses in 2025, the first having already begun. In 2026, we are also targeting two openings, in a new geographical area still under study.

Mansiones stands out by offering a flexible alternative suitable for everyone. For the price of a T1 or a T2 in the region, our roommates benefit not only from accommodation in a house with a garden, but also from an environment conducive to exchanges and intergenerational sharing. Whether for a period of transition, a professional mission, or simply for a new way of living, Mansiones offers a unique living environment, combining comfort, services, and community. We firmly believe and demonstrate that intergenerational inclusion brings invaluable wealth to daily life: seniors find or maintain a dynamic by living alongside young people, and the latter benefit from the experience and advice of their older roommates. It is a real community that is created in each of our homes, a place where we feel at home while sharing memorable moments of life.
