Interview

-

07.01.2024

Introduce yourself in few words:

My name is Charles Everaere, I am entering a Master 1 in Finance. I joined the IÉSEG CONSEIL Lille Junior-Enterprise in my first year at IÉSEG as Project Manager, I then progressed to the position of Consulting Manager and I am now president of IÉSEG CONSEIL Lille for the 2024-term. 2025.

My name is Aurélien Maillet, I am in my second year in the Master Financial Transactions and Corporate Strategy. I joined the Junior-Enterprise more than three years ago and I am today Vice-President of IÉSEG CONSEIL Paris, which is today one of the best Junior-Enterprises in France.

What is the Junior Enterprise ?

Aurélien: Founded in 2013, IÉSEG CONSEIL Paris is the Junior Enterprise of the IÉSEG School of Management on the Paris campus.

IÉSEG CONSEIL Paris is today one of the best Junior-Enterprises in France, having been named twice in a row in the list of the 6 best Junior-Enterprises in France. It is recognized for its commercial excellence by supporting companies of all sizes.

Charles: Founded in 1976, IÉSEG CONSEIL Lille is the Junior Enterprise of the IÉSEG School of Management on the Lille campus. It is a non-profit student association governed by the law of 1901 and affiliated with the National Confederation of Junior Enterprises (CNJE).

With more than 40 years of experience, our Junior-Enterprise has acquired solid expertise which allows us to collaborate with some of the largest French and international companies.

Our location in Lille is strategic because we are at the heart of a major European crossroads, which gives us a unique position and perfect control of this dynamic sector.

What are the missions of a Junior Enterprise?

Charles: A Junior-Enterprise is a non-profit student association governed by the law of 1901. The objective of the Junior-Enterprise is to allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge to concrete projects by offering consulting and study services to companies. The missions entrusted to Junior Enterprises are directly linked to the areas of expertise of the school to which they are attached, thus covering a variety of professional sectors.

A Junior Enterprise has a dual mission:

  • On the one hand, it offers a unique opportunity to professionalize by working on concrete projects for different types of clients, such as large accounts, SMEs, VSEs, entrepreneurs, public authorities and associations. In this way, students benefit from practical experience, develop their technical and professional skills, and prepare for their future careers.
  • On the other hand, it provides a quality and often more economical solution to specific business problems.

Clients benefit from the innovation and fresh perspective of students’ ideas, while contributing to the training of the next generation of professionals.

Why did you choose to join this association?

Aurélien: As a student, you can have multiple reasons to join the Junior-Enterprise. The most obvious is necessarily to be able to strengthen your professional experience by acquiring skills particularly related to the world of consulting.

Joining the Junior-Enterprise is also an opportunity to become familiar with a professional ecosystem which could be useful to us later in our professional career.

Finally, it is also an opportunity to be part of a team of members committed to a common desire to develop the Junior Enterprise.

What studies have you carried out with IESEG graduates?

Charles: IÉSEG CONSEIL frequently collaborates with IÉSEG graduates.

Let's take the recent example of our work for Cabaïa, focused on sales training issues. This client wanted to optimize the customer experience within its French stores. To do this, we helped Cabaïa conduct exit interviews and mystery visits, in order to identify areas for improvement in customer service. The advantage of using our services lies in our ability to offer a new approach to understanding the specific needs of one of Cabaïa's targets. In addition, our advantageous pricing and our flexibility by positioning ourselves in all French stores are real advantages for certain customers.

What does a company have to gain by using JE?

Aurélien: Companies benefit from numerous advantages by using a Junior-Enterprise like ours:

  • They benefit from a quality service comparable to that of a consulting firm, while benefiting from a younger approach adapted to the key issues of their company.
  • They access very competitive pricing compared to that of traditional consulting firms, thus allowing significant savings.
  • They have the opportunity to make students aware of their brand and potentially identify their future employees through the missions they carry out.
  • They benefit from increased flexibility and adaptability in support to respond precisely to their specific needs.
  • They maintain and strengthen their link with IÉSEG by hiring students from the school for paid missions, while contributing to the development of the IÉSEG Foundation, since 5% of each contract signed with an alumni is donated to the Foundation.
